Wired Magazine could not help but admire the secret weapon used by body guards to protect Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo—power umbrellas!

Wired Magazine commented how the $180 umbrellas were a common fixture brought by the President’s entourage particularly the security team. These are not your ordinary umbrellas but these are unbreakable umbrellas you can use to defend yourself.

The release of Pixar Animation Studio’s Wall-E this Friday inspired Wired Magazine to feature some of the best robot love stories on screen. Wall-E is a binary love story between a trash compactor named Wall-E and a laser-gun equipped and flying female robot named Eve.

Wired Magazine also recalled the brotherly love between the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 in Star Wars.

However, Wired Magazine failed to mention Bicentennial Man, one of the most touching robot love stories so far. This involved the love story of a robot with almost human features (except a heart which he later gets) and, hold your breath—not a fembot but a female human.

So what’s the best robot love affair in your list?

This is not Ironman testing his latest crime-fighting gadget but Swiss pilot Yves Rossy flying over the mountains with his home-made jet-powered wings.

According to Wired Magazine, Rossy is into extreme sports and has been assembling his wings for years already.  When the time came to spread and test his wings, he jumped from a plane at 7,500 feet and unfolded his wings.

Wired Magazine reported that Rossy tried free falling first then a mellow glide until he fired the engines of the wings to over 180 mph.
