Republican Presidential candidate John McCain may be facing another battle this time to clean up his technology act. PC Magazine has reported on McCain’s admission that he was not tech-savvy enough.
While PC Magazine does not want to blame McCain’s age, he is the oldest Presidential candidate, for his seemingly allergic reactions to technology, it could not help but be nervous about someone who is so technophobic lead the country.
PC Magazine reported that McCain belonged to the set of people who have managed to reach their 50’s and even 70s or 80’s but have sidestepped technology. McCain, who said other people like his wife and aide are getting online information for him however said he is working on that aspect. The clincher for People Magazine though was when McCain admitted that he does not email and has never felt the need to do that.
As PC Magazine said, how can you expect someone so non-tech savvy even in terms of email to lead in the 21st century?

Control your kids’ access to the internet even when you’re not there to watch over their shoulders with Safe Eyes 5.0 and Nanny 5.6. The browsers work like any other browsers giving your chidlren access to the Internet and Windows but subject to limitations. You can keep your old browser like Explorer or Firefox but the sites that the kids can get access to have been pre-screened by the parents. This allows you to control the amount of time the kids can surf the internet, block certain sites and even monitor or even prohibit chats.
PC Magazine recommends the browsers because they are simpel to use and even blocks away annoying pop-ups which are also usually used by porn sites to get into your computers. It also allows kids to open one page at a time.

Wifi and Hot Spot surfing is a hit these days not only among CEO’s and young professionals but even among students. The question of security is thus an important issue that PC Magazine tackled in its latest article.
PC Magazine cautioned surfers on the security (or lack of it) involved when surfing in public places where just about anyone smart enough with the Internet can get access to whatever you are typing or the sites you are visiting.
While a VPN can assure you of safe surfing as it makes use of encryption, not all surfers are however lucky and privileged enough to have this. To make sure you are safe, you have suite up which means you should have anti-spyware, anti-virus and a two-way firewall. PC Magazine also advices you to wise up and make sure that your security software is regualrly updated. And last but not least, make sure you check for Verisign.
