Fortune Magazine Talks With Ex-CEO’s From Starbucks, Motorola and JetBlue On Laws OF Gravity

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

The law of gravity provides that what goes up must come down.  This was realized too late by three men, all former Chief Executive Officers of big companies like Starbucks, JetBlue and Motorola. Fortune Magazine interviews these men on a topic considered by most ex-CEO’s, their wives and even children as taboo.

Fortune Magazine talked with Jim Donald, former CEO of Starbucks and who managed to raise the share price of the company from $26 to $39 during the two years he held office. As soon as the sales dropped, he was also dropped like a hot potato by the previous chairman Howard Schultz who reinstalled himself as Starbucks chief executive.

Fortune Magazine’s interview with former Motorola CEO (who made millions out of RAZR) Ed Zander. When the succeeding product fumbled and profits went down, he was also forced to go down along with it.

Of the three, Fortune Magazine found former JetBlue CEO David Neeleman to be relaxed and not nervous at all durign the interview. Reason: he has his future planned out.

PC Magazine Does Its Own Top Tech Survey When Stranded In An Island

Friday, May 30th, 2008

magazine7.jpg

PC Magazine interviewed its own staff as to which tech items they would like to have if they get stranded on an island. Majority of those interviewed settled for luxurious but functional stuff like the Netflix Player by Roku, Personal UV Monitor with Exposure Timer and the Wacom Bamboo Fun.

However, there were those who wished for an Eflare Flashing LED Beacon which is the traditional way to get the attention of planes whether or not they are looking for you. One of the best responses during PC Magazine’s survey was the one given by their Desktop Analyst Joel Santo Domingo who chose the Iridium 9505a with an optional roll up solar panel. This gadget can help you get an SOS provided you get a signal. But hey! This phone is touted to work anywhere in the world so try it.

FHM Magazine Shows Why Johansson Is One Of The Most Sexiest Women

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Scarlett Johannson has been tagged one of the sexiest women and FHM Magazine is reminding you guys of this with a tantalizing photo of the Johannson.

FHM Magazine caught Johannson on camera during a recent shoot of “He’s Just Not That Into You”. Is Johannson naked? Your guess is as good as anybody else’s. But here’s one for the books.

FHM quoted Johannson as saying “I’m not wearing this fucking bra. I’m going naked” during the shooting of the scientific film “The Island” in 2005. Anyone who does not agree to that?

Surf Safely At Starbucks

Surf Safely At StarbucksSurf Safely At Starbucks

Wifi and Hot Spot surfing is a hit these days not only among CEO’s  and young professionals but even among students.   The question of security is thus an important issue that PC Magazine tackled in its latest article.

PC Magazine cautioned surfers on the security (or lack of it) involved when surfing in public places where just about anyone smart enough with the Internet can get access to whatever you are typing or the sites you are visiting.

While a VPN can assure you of safe surfing as it makes use of encryption, not all surfers are however lucky and privileged enough to have this.  To make sure you are safe, you have suite up which means you should have anti-spyware, anti-virus and a two-way firewall.  PC Magazine also advices you to wise up and make sure that your security software is regualrly updated.  And last but not least, make sure you check for Verisign.
